Chris Brown Facing Criminal Charges For Owning A Pet Monkey

Chris Brown is facing two criminal charges over his pet money.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Chris Brown is charged with two counts of having a restricted species without a permit by the Los Angeles City Attorney. Additionally, the singer will have to face a maximum sentence of six months behind bars for the crime.

Earlier in the year, Chris posted his pet monkey on social media in which caused much fuss from fans. Many believe the animal was a threat to his daughter royalty, who was 3-years-old at the time.

Sources close to law enforcement have stated that the California Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified, and launched an investigation afterward. Being that singer did not have a permit for the monkey, authorities received a search warrant in preparation to raid his house.

Chris Brown surrender the pet in order to avoid the raid and is due in court on February 6th, 2019.
