Mother of Dancehall Artist Squash Fights For Her Son Release

Despite the rumors of the dancehall deejay, Squash, being released, the artist mother is still fighting for her son's freedom from jail.

Shelly-Ann Millwood told Zip Fm that Squash has yet to be charged, despite being locked up for months.

She believes her son is innocent and askes for authorities to release him.

"I don't know what is happening with the system. Right now you see if I do talk to people they use they will use it against my son," Millwood said to ZIP FM. "You see the radio station call me now and I am talking to you, sometimes they used it against me. And if I even go YouTube and Facebook and talk, behave how they treat my son and whatever sometimes they use it against him."

Additionally, The dancehall artist mother told the radio station that she is unable to visit Squash who is locked up and hopes when the state of emergency in Montego Bay, Jamaica ends on January 31st he will walk free. Millwood also people that the police are also using his music against him.

Over the course of months, Squash music has gained massive popularity on the dancehall scene locally in Jamaica, and currently internationally. Songs like Ohh Lala La, Trending, and Lavish have become dancehall lovers favorites.
