Missy Elliott Gets Inducted Into Songwriters Hall of Fame, First Female Hip-Hop Artist

Missy Elliott creates history becoming the first female Hip-Hop artist to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The other five songwriters are Yusuf Islam, John Prine, Tom T. Hall, Dallas Austin, and Jack Tempchin.

Additionally, she is the third rapper to being inducted into the Hall of Fame according to CBS News. Missy has written songs for Beyonce, Janet Jackson, and Mary J. Blige while also pursuing her own career.
