"Empire" Will End After Season 6

"Empire" is set to be cancelled! It has been announced that the sixth season will be the final season of the scripted series on Fox.

According to Deadline, on Monday, the statement was released on Fox's Upfront call that "Empire" would be cancelled after the sixth season. The CEO of Fox Entertainment, Charlie Collier, said, “We are turning the final season into a large TV event, we are trying to go out guns a blazing. You allow fans to lean in and have the ending they deserve.”

As for the return of Jussie Smollett on the final season, Collier stated that "There’s an option to have Jussie in the series but we have no plans for that." He also made it clear that writers haven't wrote the final season yet.

The show is also set to move back to Tuesday nights at 9pm, instead of Wednesdays at 8pm.
