R. Kelly Was In NYC For Court Appearance, Attorney Believed Singer Was Missing

Mix-up always leads to false stories! R. Kelly was in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn when his attorney thought the singer was missing.

As reported earlier, Kelly's attorney Douglas Anton expressed how he was unable to see the singer on Thursday when he arrived from Chicago.

According to the New York Daily News, Anton stated that "I have spent the hours that followed his landing on the phone with the (Bureau of Prisons) at both New York MCC and Brooklyn MDC trying to locate my client, but no one would provide that information to me, even recognizing I am his attorney," which was expressed in a letter to Judges Anne Donnelly and Steven Tiscione.

However, it appeared that it was actually just mistake and R. Kelly was in NYC ready for his court appearance.

"On Friday morning the Bureau of Prisons website indicated that Kelly was being housed at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center." the site stated.

Additionally, Anton has not blamed federal officials for the mix up nor alleged any mistreatment. He only claimed that he needed time to speak with his client prior court appearance.
