Can we say progress! #CurrentFam, Bounty Killer plans to meet with the Jamaica's Prime Minister Andrew Holness and visit Cockpit Country.

Bounty Killer has been advocating against the mining of bauxite in the Cockpit Country area at Trelawny, Jamaica. Bounty made his feeling clear when he took it to Instagram to say any government that sells the Cockpit Country "shall never win again in Jamaica," in which Andrew Holness has become aware of and taking the dancehall deejay concerns serious.

According to Urban Islandz , Government Senator Matthew Samuda has confirmed that Bounty has been invited to visit the Cockpit Country and the Office of the Prime Minister on Thursday. The dancehall artist will be shown “what the real situation is,” of the Cockpit Country in which the senator has stated to be no mining.

“I have invited a friend of mine who is a vocal critic of what is taking place in what he thinks is Cockpit Country, to tour the area with me on Thursday, as well as to stop with me at Jamaica House and see exactly what is what. That friend of mine is Rodney Pryce. Myself and Rodney Pryce, aka Bounty Killer will tour the Cockpit Country on Thursday of this week,” the Senator said.

Additionally, Samuda has also made it clear that the protected area was signed off by PJ Patterson in 2004, and not Andrew Holness in which he wants to inform Bounty on as well.

“Let’s be fair to Rodney. Rodney has never settled for Government performance regardless of who is in government. And that is what we want because citizens must hold their government accountable. He himself will be shown that the Cockpit County is not being mined and the area which was being mined was signed off in 2004 by Phillip Paulwell,” he expressed.

Futhermore, the senator also pointed out that many advocates should hold past Minister Phillip Paulwell responsible for allowing bauxite miners onto the Cockpit area.

“A Phillip Paulwell sign di licence an sell out di hillside, so Spragga Benz and Queen Ifrica need fi go protest a Phillip Paulwell yard. They should take the protest to Phillip Paulwell house. The Prime Minister is the only man that every try protect the Cockpit Country. A Phillip Paulwell did a sell out di area in question,” he stated.

“By the way, everybody weh vocal pon di issue, we need fi encourage because these are the citizens weh gwan hold every Government from now on to account so it is not a bad ting,” Samuda added.
